Evacuation plans:



            Fire Evacuation Plan:

                           -Alert: The fire alarm will sound, and staff will alert all children and other staff members.

                           -Evacuation Route: Children will exit the building through the designated fire exits. Staff will lead them to the assembly point in the playground.

                           -Accountability: Staff will take attendance to ensure all children are accounted for.

                           -Communication: Staff will communicate with families and emergency responders.

                           -Re-Entry: Children will re-enter the building only when safe.


          Tornado shelter-in-Place Plan:

                      -Alert: Staff will receive a tornado warning.

                           -Shelter-in-Place Location: Children and staff will move to the designated tornado shelter area.

                           -Safety Measures: Staff will close all windows, doors, and vents. Everyone will take shelter immediately.

                           -Accountability: Staff will take attendance.

                           -Communication: Staff will communicate with families and emergency responders.


           Lockdown Plan (Intruder or Violence):

                           -Alert: Staff will receive a lockdown alert.

                           -Lockdown Procedure: Children and staff will shelter in a safe room. Doors will be locked, and everyone will remain quiet.

                           -Accountability: Staff will take attendance.

                           -Communication: Staff will communicate with families and emergency responders.

 

            **Emergency kits will be located in every room, including playrooms, kitchen area, bathrooms, and playground area. **

 

                                        Reunification Process:

Reunification procedures are critical for ensuring the safe return of children to their parents or guardians after an emergency.

                         Evacuation or Shelter-in-Place Locations:

-Parents and guardians will be informed about designated evacuation routes and shelter-in-place locations within the center. Clear instructions on where to gather during an emergency will be given to help streamline the reunification process.


                                      Lockdown Response:

                           -Parents will also be aware of their role during a lockdown and follow any instructions provided by the center.


            Communication During and After an Emergency:

                      -Parents and guardians will be contacted before, during, and after an emergency. The mode of communication (e.g., text, email, phone call) should be clearly communicated.
